Previous Litter - Geneva and Kramer.

Twelve pups (8 males, 4 females) were born November 27, 2016.

Setherwood Geneva

Geneva is a big light-coloured girl with a smooth straight coat. She is a lover of life, always in a good mood and ready for a romp outside. We look forward to these pups as they should be very good-looking as well as sweet family dogs. This will be Geneva's second litter.

Geneva has clearances for hip displasia, elbow displasia, detectable heart defects and eye cataracts. Please click HERE for her pedigree.

Ch Bowbell's He's Got The Kavorka "Kramer"

Here is a picture (

Final count is 8 males and 4 females - all doing well.

All the pups were a good size and were vigorous at birth, nursing right away. Geneva did a great job, staying focused and calm through the entire process. All the births were easy.

We will watch the pups carefully during the next 72 hours as Geneva settles into motherhood and the pups organs begin to function. As of now, all looks good.

Update - December 3, 2016.

The pups are almost a week old and all is well. We gave 2 of Geneva's pups to Isla to nurse so that each mother would have 10 pups. Geneva didn't mind (or notice).  She is eating well and spending almost all of her time nursing and cleaning. The pups are vigorous and growing as expected.

Here are pictures of the 10 pups and one picture of one of the pups with a toy which we will use periodically to show how the pups are growing.

Definitely a full house.

Well fed and content.

Siblings make great pillows!

Wishing upon a star?

Update - December 10, 2016.

Geneva's pups are almost 2 weeks old. They are nursing well and often as Geneva spends almost all of her time with them. The pups eyes are opening and they are quite mobile. Geneva is eating a lot and as a result is keeping her weight and producing milk at a great rate. She has 10 with her as Isla still has two of her pups. All is well.

Can you really see or are you just faking it?

Update - December 19, 2016.

Geneva's pups are now over 3 weeks old. We have started feeding solid food (Royal Canin starter ration soaked in hot water until soft). It was not an instant success but most ate some. Geneva continues to be a devoted mother, spending most of her time nursing and cleaning. The pups are active and beginning to play.

We plan to move the pups out of the whelping box on December 25.

Yes I know how to be cozy.

Learning to scratch.

Update - December 23, 2016.

Today started normally for Geneva and her pups. Then everything changed. As the pups were beginning to look over the side of the whelping box, it was time to move them to new quarters. So the whelping box was removed and the area was set up to house the pups until they leave us. Their first time on the floor was a bit scary but they soon adapted.  As Isla's pups are almost the same age, both she and Geneva will nurse one litter while we feed the other litter their starter ration. At the next feeding, the groups will be reversed. The number of nursings will decrease each week while the number of solid meals will increase until the pups are completely weaned at about 7 weeks of age.

For now, the litters will be kept in their own space.

The new facilities are ready.

The inmates have arrived.

Mug Shots - December 24, 2016.

The pups are now wearing the coloured collars that will identify them until they leave us.

Update - January 3.

As of today, Geneva's and Isla's pups are being housed together. Please click HERE for pictures between now and the time that they leave us.

Eight weeks old - going home - January 21, 2017.

The day finally arrived. After months of waiting, the pups are ready to go to their new homes. They have completed the course - weaning, parasite control, much socializing, veterinary exam, first vaccinations and microchips. They are completely ready for a new adventure.

However, on the morning of January 21, it looked to them like another normal day - breakfast, romping on the dog room floor while we cleaned their pen, then the normal morning nap. They had no idea that such change was imminent.

Waiting for fresh bedding and shavings.

Yup. Looks like another normal day.

But soon, visitors arrived for the seminar and then, one by one, they took possession of their new family member. It was an exciting time for all. It's always bitter-sweet for us but we know that all of these pups are going to great homes where they will be much-loved. We thank each family for choosing Setherwood Goldens.

Here are pictures of the pups as they leave us.
