Welcome to Setherwood Golden Retrievers

Welcome to the home of Setherwood Golden Retrievers. We are located on a 50 acre property near Uxbridge, Ontario (approx. 1 hour northeast of Toronto). Since the first litter in 1972, our focus has been the breeding of well-tempered and sound dogs. The majority of our puppies become family pets and we endeavor to raise them in a family-oriented atmosphere. We take a keen interest in the health and well-being of all our dogs.

Our retirement plans.

A few years ago, we decided to initiate a retirement plan by lowering the number of girls that we kept. Since then we have not kept any replacement pups from their retiring mothers and now we have only 3 young girls - Millie, Tara and Tilda. We hope we will be able to breed each of them a few times over the next 2 to 3 years, after which we will be fully retired.

We plan to keep 2 male pups from these girls before they retire. We will be able to work with these pups and enjoy their company as our pets. This will allow us to spend more time with our grandchildren and to travel.

We do already have a full list of families waiting for one on our pups.  As a result, we will not be taking any more names for the waiting list. There are many fine Golden breeders who are younger and have years to go. Goldens are in good hands.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our longtime hobby and passion raising Goldens and we thank all of you for your interest in Setherwood Golden Retrievers.

Sincerely, June and Norm MacLeod.
